Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, currently on a visit to Kashmir, delighted locals with a spontaneous cricket session, showcasing his enduring talent even a decade after retiring from professional cricket. Documenting his trip on social media, Tendulkar visited Pahalgam and a cricket bat manufacturing unit at Chursoo on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

In a recently shared video on Instagram and other platforms, Tendulkar halted his car on a road and asked locals if he could join their cricket game, saying, “Hum khelein?” (Can I play?). The locals gladly accepted, and facing a tennis ball, Tendulkar exhibited his cricket prowess, reminiscing his early days. One particularly remarkable shot was played off the final ball, where he held the bat upside down and delivered a stunning cover drive, earning applause from onlookers, including his wife Anjali.

Despite challenging the bowler by saying, “Out karna padega” (You have to get me out), Tendulkar remained unbeaten, showcasing the skills that made him a cricket icon. The video also captured Tendulkar’s interaction with fans during his economy class flight, where the passengers spontaneously erupted into the iconic ‘Sachin, Sachin’ chants, transforming the plane into a temporary stadium.

During his visit to the MJ bat manufacturing company, Tendulkar explored and examined some Kashmir willow bats, expressing his connection with them since his early cricket days. He shared a nostalgic moment, revealing that his first bat, given by his sister, was also a Kashmir willow bat. Tendulkar emphasized the significance of encountering the Kashmir willow in its home region.
