Mumbai Indians recently revealed their new jersey for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL), featuring extra shades of pink. Monica Jaising, the creative mind behind the design and a renowned fashion designer, explained that the jersey was inspired by the peacock, symbolizing strength and pride.

Jaising highlighted the vibrant blues representing the peacock’s feathers, the coral-peach inspired by the stem, and a gradient pattern resembling the majestic spread of a peacock. She expressed that the design reflects the fierce and beautiful qualities of the players, celebrating the national spirit and the essence of Mumbai Indians.

Under the guidance of coach Charlotte Edwards and mentor Jhulan Goswami, Mumbai Indians have commenced their training for the WPL 2024, with players gradually joining the camp. The team has strengthened its squad by adding South African pace bowler Shabnim Ismail to complement English quick Iss Wong.

The defending champions are set to begin their campaign against the Delhi Capitals in a rematch of last year’s final on Friday, February 23. The WPL 2024 will be held in Bengaluru and Delhi in a caravan format, with the initial 11 games in Bengaluru followed by the remaining matches in the capital.
