Ind vs Aus: Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan score fifties as India record highest run chase in T20Is

In a high-intensity game against Australia on Thursday, India managed to pull a heist by chasing down the record target of 209. This helped them register their biggest chase in T20Is.

However, none of this would have been possible without the contribution of two of the most loved Mumbai Indian boys, in the form of Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav.

Australia was brilliant with the bat in hand. courtesy to the hundred of Josh Inglis, they were able to post a mammoth total of 208 with relative ease. Inglis smashed 110 from 50 balls and his inning was joy to watch as 11 fours and 8 sixes lit the night sky in a frenzy at Vizag.

The show wasn’t over in the first inning though, as India had a perfect comeback planned for the second inning.

Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan steady the ship for India

Despite losing both openers cheaply, the first-time captain of the Indian T20I team, Suryakumar Yadav kept his calm. When he came to bat, India was 22 for 2 in just 2.3 overs.

That is when he strikes a partnership with his Mumbai Indian comrade in Ishan Kishan. Together these batters added 112 runs in 60 balls for the third wicket.

Kishan scored a fabulous 50 in a frenzy but couldn’t see it through as he was departed for 58 in just 39 balls. His inning consisted of 2 fours and 5 sixes.

Suryakumar Yadav took the baton from his teammate from there onwards to continue the onslaught on the Aussie bowlers. He took them to the cleaners just like Kishan to score 80 from 42, before being departed by Behrendorff, who was also the pick of the bowlers for Australia.

Rinku Singh finishes things off in style

However, by the time SKY departed, India required 15 in 15. And things did get dicey towards the end, with a lot of wickets falling in tandem. A total of 3 wickets fell in the final over of Sean Abott, giving Australia some hope of a comeback in the game.

Rinku Singh, once again, stared at the eye of storm and remained composed as ever to take his team over the line on the last ball of the game by smashing it out of the park for a fabulous six.

Turns out, it was a no-ball bowled by Sean Abbott which means that the maximum won’t count in the account of Rinku Singh. Still, this takes away nothing from the young sensation who has what it takes to become a world-class finisher.

Suryakumar Yadav was named man of the match for his amazing performance. He becomes the only second captain for India in T20Is to win a player of the match award in his debut captaincy game.
