MI Emirates won the ILT20 2024 Final against Dubai Capitals on Saturday (February 17) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It was a big win for MI Emirates, as they defeated Dubai Capitals by 45 runs to claim their first-ever title in the tournament.
Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies cricketer, led MI Emirates and they comfortably beat Sam Billings-led Dubai Capitals. MI Emirates scored a challenging 208/3 in 20 overs, and then they restricted Dubai Capitals to 167/8 in their 20 overs.
ILT20 Season 2 Winners Prize Money
MI Emirates won the exciting cricket tournament and got the top prize of USD 700,000, which is about Rs 5.82 Crore. Dubai Capitals came second and won USD 300,000, around Rs 2.49 Crore. Both teams played really well, showing great skills and determination, making it a memorable event for cricket fans all over the world.
The top scorers for MI Emirates were Andre Fletcher with 53 runs and Nicholas Pooran with 57 runs in the final. In the run chase of 209, Dubai Capitals struggled in batting, and Captain Billings was their top-scorer with 40 runs. Nicholas Pooran, the captain of MI Emirates, was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
After the match, Pooran praised his team’s openers for their excellent start, saying, “It’s truly special to be the man of the match in the final. We talked about having the right energy and attitude. I couldn’t have asked for a better start; the openers did the hard work, and we just finished it off. It’s about understanding the situation and batting accordingly.”

In the tournament, players had a chance to win special belts and $15,000 for their outstanding performances. James Vince got the Green Belt for being the top batsman, scoring 356 runs in 12 innings. Waqar Salamkheil earned the White Belt for taking the most wickets, with 17 dismissals.
Muhammad Waseem was named the best UAE player and received the Blue Belt for the second year in a row. Sikandar Raza was the Most Valuable Player and got the Red Belt. Along with these cool belts, each player also won $15,000. The Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards were given out too, making it an exciting tournament with lots of prizes for outstanding players.
